Southern Croatia and Dalmatia

See the wonders of Southern Croatia and Dalmatia and experience what it’s all about. Visit the cities of Split and Dubrovnik and learn about their rich history as well as see local sites where the TV series Gam of Thrones was filmed. Explore Krka National Park and the island of Hvar.  Enjoy a relaxing day on the Zrmanja River.  This area has so much to offer with adventure and history all in one place.

DAY 1

Game of Thrones Tour and Krka National Park

After enjoying your included breakfast you will make your way to the Riva Promenade where you will meet your guide at 8:45am for the Game of Thrones Tour in Split. Your guide will take you on a two hour walking tour to see the many local sites where the famous TV series “Game of Thrones'' was filmed, while also teaching you about the history of Split.  You will also visit the cellars of Diocletian’s Palace where many scenes were filmed. After enjoying Split, you will meet your transport ~11 AM  and be transported to Krka National Park. Roam through Krka National Park at your leisure. Krka National Park features a variety of hiking trails, boat excursions, biking paths, and educational workshops for families to enjoy. Visitors can enjoy relaxing in the remote landscape away from big crowds and take in sweeping views of waterfalls, rivers, and gorges. Over 800 species of plant life have been identified as being present in the National Park.  The tiny island of Visovac in the Krka river was settled by Franciscan monks in 1445, who originally built a monastery in that year (later demolished, then rebuilt in the 18th century) and a church in 1576. The monastery contains a number of well-preserved artifacts and a library.  The island can be visited by purchasing a ticket for a boat ride to the island. Enjoy swimming in the Krka River by the waterfalls as well as lunch on your own from the many vendors near the waterfalls. Meet at 2:45pm to take a guided boat tour from Skraidinski Buk to Skradin. Then enjoy an hour of downtime for coffee, drinks, and walking on your own. After enjoying your day at Krka you will be transported back to your lodging arriving around 6-7pm.

DAY 2

Island of Hvar

Enjoy a beautiful day on the Island of Hvar after your included breakfast at your lodging. Your day will begin with making your way to Split, then an approximately one hour katamaran ride to the Island of Hvar. While on Hvar enjoy a guided bike tour of the white-washed towns and historic cobbled streets of Stari Grad and Vrboska, to the clear blue waters and almost-empty beaches and coves of the southern part of Hvar. Taste the delicious Dalmatian fare served at quant, home-style restaurants and visit the photogenic rolling hills swathed in layers of fragrant lavender, olive trees, and vineyards. Revel in the beauty of the island just like Prince Harry, George Clooney, Jay-Z, Beyonce, and other celebrities. The Island of Hvar is so much more than just the glitz and glamor of its main town. Enjoy lunch on your own while on the island. After your boat ride back to Split you will be transported back to your lodging.

DAY 3

Zrmanja River Rafting at Kastel Zegarski

After your included breakfast, begin your journey around 7:30 am and work your way to Kastel Zegarski where you will enjoy a day of rafting.  Zrmanja River rafting Croatia and paddling up to Krupa River is a perfect mixture of fascinating scenery and adventure. These two rivers are among the most beautiful rivers in Croatia and Europe. Hidden in the remote area in the Zadar hinterland, rafting the Zrmanja River will amaze you with its clean water and intact nature. Zrmanja rafting Croatia River trip begins in the village of Kastel Zegarski. Even if you don’t have any previous rafting experience you can join this trip. This white-water rafting is safe enough even for 6-year-olds. And, if you are an experienced rafter, you will also encounter more challenging rapids and drops that will give you a needed adrenaline rush. During time on the river, you will have the opportunity to swim and jump from a big waterfall and just relax floating down the river. The trip will be approximately 5-6 hours and finish around 3:30pm. After, you are free to make your way back to Split where you’re free to enjoy dinner on your own or wander around and explore other areas.

DAY 4

Dubrovnik and Lokrum Island

After enjoying your included breakfast you will be picked up and transferred to Dubrovnik where you will spend the day exploring the beautiful walled city and an overnight stay. Dubrovnik is filled with world class restaurants and narrowed cobblestone lanes to explore. The best way to see the city is a walk on its medieval walls and take in the beautiful views of the Adriatic Sea, Old Town, and climb the Minceta Tower. Wander through Old Town, filled with restaurants and small shops. Stroll through the Stradun, a filming location for Star Wars Episode Vlll. Take a ride on the cable car to take in an aerial view of Dubrovnik. Plan ahead and reserve dinner at the Panorama Restaurant and enjoy the sunset. Visit Lovrijenac Fortress, a filming location for the Game of Thrones series.Your guide will take you through Dubrovnik teaching you about the history and many interesting film location facts. After enjoying Dubrovnik, take a boat ride to Lokrum Island where you can relax on the beach, wander through the gardens, or visit the Benedictine Monastery, another filming location for the Game of Thrones TV series. After a wonderful day of wandering through Dubrovnik and visiting Lokrum Island,you will be returned to your lodging for a good night’s rest.
